Slingshot Swap trades the tokens in the Onyx Testnet pools. Open the app, connect the test wallet, and choose Swap. The wallet must be on Chain ID 8901. If it is on another network, use the app's switch prompt or add Onyx Testnet yourself.
You need test XCN for gas. Get it from the Faucet before the first trade.
What you can trade
The token list is a test fixture. It includes native XCN, wrapped XCN, and the test USDC, ETH, and BTC tokens deployed for this network. A symbol that matches a Mainnet or market asset is still the Testnet contract. Read the token in the wallet prompt before you approve or swap.
Pools can be empty, thin, or withdrawn. A quote can move between the preview and the signature. The signed transaction is the trade you authorized. If the app reports insufficient liquidity, choose a smaller amount or another pair.
How a swap works
- Choose the token you pay and the token you receive.
- Enter the amount. The app shows the expected output and the price impact.
- Set a slippage tolerance you accept. A tight tolerance can make the transaction revert when the pool moves. A wide tolerance can fill at a worse price.
- Approve the router when the token is an ERC-20 and the current allowance is short. Native XCN does not need that approval.
- Confirm the swap and wait for the receipt. Then read the received balance from the wallet or from a fresh app refresh.
Each trade pays a 0.30% liquidity-provider fee. That fee stays in the pool and accrues to liquidity providers. It is separate from the test XCN gas you pay for the transaction.
Liquidity
Pool shows whether your wallet holds a position. Add liquidity deposits a pair and mints pool tokens for your share. You can remove that liquidity later and receive the underlying tokens, plus the fees that accrued to your share.
The first deposit into an empty pool sets the price. Test liquidity can be reset by the people who provided it. A pool balance is not a Mainnet market price and is not a promise that the pool will still exist tomorrow.
